Questions and answers about boat painting
What is the difference between gelcoat and paint?
Gelcoat is the outer layer on most fibreglass boats, while paint is applied on top. We work with both: smaller damage can often be repaired in the gelcoat, while a worn or faded boat can get a completely new look with painting.
Can you take on larger boats?
We take boats on a trailer at our place in Oxie. Get in touch with dimensions and photos and we'll quickly let you know whether we can take your particular boat.
How much does boat painting cost?
The price depends on the boat's size and condition and on what needs doing – a gelcoat repair costs considerably less than a full hull respray. Send photos and dimensions via the contact form and you'll get a free price estimate.
What time of year is best to paint the boat?
Autumn and winter are often the most convenient, when the boat is on land anyway and you have it ready for launch. We paint indoors, so the work can be done all year round.
